Friday, Nov. 13 is our next Spirit Day!! Students, teachers and staff are all encouraged to wear WG Pearson Spirit Wear or school colors. We will be selling short sleeve and long sleeve t-shirts, hoodies, and bracelets at the following times:

Thursday, November 12 from 8AM-9AM in front of the school

Thursday, November 19 from 5PM-7:30PM in front of the Media Center, during Scholastic Book Fair Extended Hours and Title 1 Literacy Night.

All PTA Members are welcome to attend our monthly Executive Board meetings!!!

We have had a busy couple weeks with Open House for Grades 1-5 on August 20, a Kindergarten playdate on August 23 and Kindergarten Open House on August 28! Thanks to all who helped with and/or attended these events!

Congratulations to Tiffany Pitt! Tiffany has been selected as volunteer extraordinaire from WG Pearson Ele mentary for 2008. She is a very dedicated parent of a 4th grade student. Many of you know Tiffany from the Fall Festival and from Spirit Wear. In addition, Tiffany chaired the nominating committee, the audit committee and supports the membership drive and all fundraising activities. Dedicated volunteers are the core of a successful PTA. Please join us in extending congratulations and thanks to Tiffany for her extraordinary effort!

WG Pearson Advanced Band will be performing in Washington DC at the Nation’s Capitol on March 19.

Pearson Song will perform at Disney World in Orlando Florida in May

We are having an exciting year at WG Pearson Elementary and I hope you are enjoying all the events and activities throughout the year. Thank you to all the many parents and staff members who provide endless support to make our PTA successful. Thank you in advance to those of you who have plans to volunteer and support the upcoming activities.
Our Health Fair can be more successful than last year if we have enough volunteers and community participation. As a reminder, last year, we had participation from mental health, pediatric dentistry, podiatry and chiropractic professionals. We also had nutritional information, insurance professionals, in addition to dance and martial arts programs. The health fair was co-sponsored by Dr. Kenneth Brown, of Back to Health Chiropractic and Elite Martial Arts. Dr. Brown is a parent of two students at WG Pearson.
Our PTA has supported several field trips this year, and we will continue to support student enrichment activities in the winter and spring. Stay tuned for announcements as plans develop further.

School Spirit Fridays!

Starting January 23, we will have Spirit day on Friday. All students, parents, and staff are asked to dress in WG Pearson Spirit Wear. All students in Spirit Wear can enter a weekly drawing. Prizes will be given to students in each

Parking Lot Safety!

Many parents have been picking up kids from after school by stopping in the parking lot but not parking. Even if it is just a few steps away from the sidewalk, it is not safe.

In addition, some parents have been parking in front of the school in the mornings and walking their children in to their classroom. If you are going to bring your child inside the school, please park in a parking space.
